Meghan Davidson, 26, was found barely breathing in Whispering Palms, a Fort Myers, Florida, community living center Saturday after she was hit in the head by a bolt of lighting, NBC-2 reports. Davidson was one week away from her due date and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and to deliver her baby to avoid further complications.
Though she and baby Owen were originally both in critical condition, theNews-Press reports her condition has been upgraded to serious. No information on Owen’s status was immediately available.
According to CBS 46, Davidson was out walking with her mother at the time of the lightning strike. Davidson’s fellow church member Carol Bridges told the station that “they have lowered the amount of oxygen that she is getting and they have lowered the sedation.”
Davidson is married and has two other young children.
