I couldn’t sleep again. That was how my lovely life turned a mess.
I was gradually turning into a mad woman. I was going crazy. I began taking drugs to take my mind off the oppression. It happened every night. Sometimes I would sleep upstairs and I would wake downstairs.
My husband knew what was happening but he didn’t care.
I couldn’t even contact my parents cos they were far. I was in Abuja and they were in Lagos.
I called my dad to tell them but they couldn’t even do anything. My husband told me not to leave the house and he made sure I couldn’t try because he put people to watch me.
I was losing it. I couldn’t even take care of my daughter well like a mother.
I tried so many ways to leave the house.
Every move I made was always found out by my husband and that resulted in more restrictions.
I was becoming a psycho in my husband’s house.
After a couple of months of torments, a day came. My husband had travelled. Immediately I knew he had travelled, I called my father and he said I should pack everything I had and my daughter, run out of the house and find a cab along the road and tell him to drive me to Lagos and all expenses will be handled by him. As I was about to leave the estate, i got a call from my husband. i guess he got intel from someone that I had left the house. He warned me to go back to the house immediately but I didn’t listen. I ran like a lion wash chasing me, got into a cab and he drove off.
Finally, I got to Lagos. I had to undergo mental therapy for months so I could start thinking and acting like a normal woman again. It took a very long time before I summoned courage to leave the house and start living again.
I just thank God now, I’ve broken up from the relationship and I’m okay now as a single mother with a beautiful daughter. God has been very very faithful.
Thanks for your time.
